I always enjoy your writing, Crina. I am intrigued by the dexterity of your mind and how you're able to take your reader along for the ride. Regarding the article about Bellow, I do understand the desire to make known his treatment of women. There are so many journalists over the years who have taken on this role. For the same reason I still watch Woody Allen movies at least 4 times a year, I do separate the personality from the artist. Always. I look forward to your Portugal images and so glad you got that tooth taken care of! (BTW, unusual to still have your wisdom teeth, yes? I lost all of mine at 20 years old, I believe).

Juliette, as usual, a thoughtful comment on my post. I agree that toxic masculinity is a very irritating and for some women, painful thing. I have had my share of bullying back in uni, I am glad things never crossed the line to a situation where they might have impacted my psychological well-being. That said, there are many sides of a story, I am pretty sure Bellow had his own uneasy introspection re: his womanizing habits, who knows where the line between normalcy and pathological lies. I may be on a slightly different page from you about Woody Allen. I am firmly on his side regarding the allegations made by Farrow and her daughter. Neurosis is on thing, abuse is another. Then again, we cannot really know what was going on there, so I say whatever :D. I kept my wisdom molars because they were not impacted or anything, but this fellow had to go, it drove me crazy for a while and I did pay the price dealing with periodontitis on vacation - Yikes!

I had a Saul Bellow phase a couple of years ago and read a few of his novels and stories, which I really enjoyed. You've reminded me to return to them in audiobook form. Great accompaniments on my photowalks. The Portugal preview has me on tenterhooks!

Cheers, Jon! I would definitely like to have the option of audiobook for Humboldt's Gift, for example - I find it harder to concentrate on dense books in the age of doom scrolling and innumerable online temptations and curiosities. Portugal will find its way in Experienta Spatiului, no worries.
