Simply gorgeous passages…the light, shadow and contrast… anything that is Italy wins my heart. 💜 I miss it there. Enjoyed this, Crina!

Wonderful post, Crina! I love the central theme of corridors and passages, that lends itself so well to thinking about the path of life and all of its travels, both spiritual and physical. Your photos show this 'deeper' quality well, by capturing these extraordinary spaces following your photographic intuition, your grasp of light and what it does to these streets and corridors. I like your stories that accompany them. I don't really have a favorite among these images, but maybe I like the intimacy of the photo with the old tiles, the night mood in the Lisbon street and the near-sacred play of light in the Sallèles‑d’Aude image just a little more. I wasn't familiar with the writing of Julian Barnes, but it seems interesting to delve into. And of course, the Jonathan Franzen quote about birds is a statement after my own heart; I have the deepest respect for what I see as their genius superiority.
